How was your holiday? I hope you had time for yourself, and if you didn’t let’s do it now. The holidays usually are a very stressful time for people. Taking care of everyone you know, buying gifts, setting up decorations, attending Christmas parties etc. Usually during these times there are maybe a couple breaks for you to lie on the couch, eat a good meal and maybe shower…but let’s change it up a bit. I think everyone deserves a mental health day, a day to hang out and do what YOU want to do. The holidays shouldn’t always be about presents, and gifts and it shouldn’t be an obligation to do something for you. I think the start to the New Year should always be about you. Make your New Year’s resolution something you can do to focus on you. Don’t make it about “losing weight” or “looking better.” Set better goals, make yourself a work-out regimen and stick to it.  Or buy yourself workout clothes or a membership, something that you will have to physically go out and do just for you. Instead of saying I want to take care of myself, say “I will do x, y, and z, to get to my goal.” It is easy to say you are going to do something, but it is very hard to actually start that something. So let me help you. Your priorities are now starting with YOU. Christmas is over, and the New Year is starting so let’s start it out the right way and put you on the top of the list. You are the only one you have for the rest of your life, so do it for YOU, not anyone else. What is your New Year’s resolution?
